St. Augustine Florida Professional Portrait Photographer Tom McConnell It was the 1970s, and I was a teenager with a passion for photography. My dad was a photographer, and he had a darkroom in the basement of our house. I would spend hours in the darkroom, watching him develop film and print photos. I was fascinated by the process, and I wanted to learn everything I could about it.

One day, my dad let me use his old Konica SLR camera. I was so excited! I couldn't wait to start taking my own pictures. I spent the next few weeks taking pictures of everything I could think of. I took pictures of my friends, my family, my neighborhood, and even my cat.

When I had a roll of film developed, I was amazed at how clear and detailed the pictures were. I couldn't believe that I had taken them myself! I was hooked. I started taking pictures every chance I got.

One day, I decided to try developing my own film. I followed my dad's instructions carefully, and soon I had my first developed film. I was so proud of myself! I showed my dad my pictures, and he was really impressed. He told me that I had a natural talent for photography.

I continued to take pictures and develop my own film for many years. It was a hobby that I loved, and it taught me a lot about photography. I learned about the different aspects of light, exposure, and composition. I also learned about the history of photography and the different techniques that photographers have used over the years.

Photography was more than just a hobby for me. It was a way to express myself and to capture the world around me. It was a way to tell stories and to share my vision with others. I am grateful for the opportunity that I had to learn about photography in the 1970s. It was a time of great creativity and experimentation, and it helped to shape my love of photography for the rest of my life.

I hope you enjoy my work!
